Council on the Hill at the German Embassy in Washington, D.C
Taking place the first time leading up to the 2017 German American Conference at Harvard, we are very excited that Greg Dobak (Council member & Co-Chair GAC 2017) continues to keep the tradition alive and brings together established and aspiring transatlantic leaders during this insightful trip.
Besides a private meeting with German Ambassador to the United States and Presidium member of the Council Emily Haber, the organizing team of this year's German American Conference had the unique opportunity to meet further German and American transatlantic leaders:
- Julia Friedlander (Director for the European Union, Southern Europe, and Economic Affairs at the National Security Council, the White House)
- Paul Stucky & Dave Novitsky (Foreign Affairs Officers at the U.S. Department of State)
- Walter Lohman (Director, Asian Studies Center at the Heritage Foundation)
As part of those meetings, the team also toured the German Embassy, the U.S. Capitol, the U.S. Department of State and the EEOB.
We are already looking forward to the next visit in D.C.
