Council Webinar | Economic and Fiscal policy in the current situation with Jörg Kukies

Thursday, May 21, 2020

5:00pm – 6:00pm

Council Webinars are organized by the Council of the German American Conference at Harvard e.V. to give members the chance to connect directly to leading thinkers from politics, business, and society from Europe and the U.S. during these challenging times. We are therefore very honored that Dr. Jörg Kukies will join us for a webinar on Thursday the 21st of May.

During the webinar, State Secretary Kukies will share his perspectives on crafting economic and fiscal policy under the current situation. He will also share his thoughts on the effects COVID-19 will have on the upcoming decade. After a short 20min talk, there will be lots of opportunities to discuss and ask questions during a dedicated Q&A session.

Dr. Jörg Kukies is currently serving as a State Secretary in the German ministry of finance, where he oversees the areas of European finance and financial markets regulation. Prior to his job at the BMF, he spent 17 years working at Goldman, where he rose to become co-chief of Germany Austria, and head of the securities division in the region. Sts Kukies holds an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School as well as a doctorate from the University of Chicago.

Please note that this event will take place under Chatham House Rules and is open exclusively to Council members.
